One of the most important traditions in Puerto Rico is the Dia de Reyes celebration. This takes place on January 6 of each year and commemorates the day, which according to the Catholic Church, was the day that the Three Wise Men brought their presents to the Child Jesus who had been born. That day all Puerto Rican children expect gifts. I have the habit of painting a new wise men every year. I started in 2016. These Three Wise Men "Renacer Boricua" correspond to January 2018, this were the first wise men that I painted after Hurricane María. This year I painted several, for a total of four different wise men. Then the earthquakes from the South arrived exactly on a Three Kings Day on January 6th 2019, followed by the pandemic and since then I have not painted kings again. But I can tell you that new ones are coming on 2023.
